Assignment 6
I hope you all enjoyed our discussions at the beginning of the class. I think there were a lot of good ideas presented and we all have a few good directions for improvement of th einitial experiments.
One very important point that was highlighted was that sometimes we have to include horizontal error bars that indicate either uncertainties or that the point represents a range over which that data was collected. In the velocities case particles could travel over various paths so a single distance is not an accuarte reflection the measurement. Similarly, in the directions measurement, particles over a range of angles are counted at each point and this needs to be shown to draw a conclusion.
For next time:
- Keep your wiki log up to date to reflect what you did and are doing currently
- Plot your new or reanalyzed data
We will spend some time during next class with a discusssion of radar detection with some discussion of possible measurements. We will also discuss further improvements to the data we already have.
