Blogs Away!

Contrary to what you may be thinking, today was a great session. While we are disappointed that you have not collaborated as well as we would have hoped, we are now sure that the course objectives have now become clearer for you. All science has setbacks. Now, however, is the critical time. We believe you now have the tools to pursue cosmic ray mysteries with renewed vigor! We have many goals for you (and we have high expectations). We know you will rise to the challenge.

For Tuesday April 18th

  • Again, you should blog a lightbulb and challenge moment. Youstina should talk about her enlightening "aha" moment. As a reminder, you should be sure to read each other's pages to see what you are collectively learning.
  • All procedures are due. Remember, these are your blueprints for conducting the lab. Be sure they are thorough. Work collectively to make sure they are masterpieces.
  • Be prepared to conduct Experiment 1
  • In your blog please answer the following two questions:

1 Briefly explain how an osciloscope works and what it allows you to measure (a sketch is OK)
2 Are cosmic rays mostly coming from above or below? Give one reason for your answer, and then suggest a way you might test it with the equipment in the lab today.... (popcorn for the best answer)
